Giving Back 2025 | Faith-Inspired Tree Care Journey

Deep roots grow a legacy - 2024

Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre

April 2025

RVH is our local hospital that continues to gain sentimental value for our family. It’s where Malachi was born, it’s where Tyson has had numerous appointments and fabulous specialists support him, and it’s where Maxwell spent 7 weeks in the NICU after being transferred from Mount Sinai. Currently, they are raising funds specifically for the NICU expansion. We are so very thankful for the care our son received there, but we know that this unit could benefit from some more room to maneuver in, as well as some privacy for parents during a very trying and emotional time of their lives. At the time of writing, they are currently running a 50/50 draw, so it’s an excellent time to consider supporting them in reaching their goal!

May 202

Starlight is extra special to our family because not only have they given Tyson and the rest of our children many happy memories, they also had the same impact on their dad when he was a kid.

For kids who are chronically ill like Johnny, Starlight provides a break from the stress or even the pain of everyday life, and for kids like Tyson who are limited in the way they get to interact with the world around them, they provide opportunities for them to experience things they never would have been able to otherwise.

The thought that the program directors put into each event really shows, and because we are so thankful for the way they have given to our family, we’re happy to support them as they give to other families.

Camp Promise Barrie

June 2025

Camp Promise operates year round through after school, Spring Break and inner city summer camps for children and youth living within Barrie, Ontario. Knowing the hours between 3:30 and 6:30 pm are the most vulnerable for children and youth, and many families are challenged to find affordable and accessible after school opportunities for their kids, Camp Promise desires to provide a safe, inclusive, financially accessible and meaningful place to come. Kids can receive homework help, make new friends, and have a ton of fun. They will enjoy music, games, sports and other great activities, while learning about God, the Bible, and what their purpose is in this big old world. They also run spring break and July summer camps, and care about the whole family and offer support as we are able to parents/grandparents and foster families in many different ways. Fun, learning, and adventure are the focus, while living out the message of hope and life found in Jesus.

Whatever your experience with church may be (or lack thereof), it has always been a place for people to come and receive help. We believe in the church’s vital role to support the needs of it’s congregation, and as part of two churches, we believe it is our responsibility to assist them in this – in loving our brothers and sisters in Christ as if they are exactly that; brothers and sisters! “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”John 13:34-35

Adam & Angie Brown

August 2025

Adam & Angie Brown, Gulf Theological Seminary – We had the privilege of learning from Adam when he was a pastor at our church in Barrie for a few years before moving on to the UAE. As a strategic seminary in the 10/40 window, Adam has the unique opportunity to help train future pastors who will return to their own countries to share the good news in the most unreached regions of the world. Please consider donating to this worth cause!

Safe Families

September 2025

We are so excited to be a part of Safe Families as they expand to the Barrie-Orillia area. Safe Families provides safe homes for children to stay in while their parents get the help they need before children’s aid services need to intervene. Usually this role would be filled by friends, family, or neighbours, but many families today have no one to help. As parents of an adopted child, our hearts are very soft towards these families. If someone had stepped into Tyson’s birth-mom’s life, or even into her mother’s life, his story could be quite different. And that’s why we’re proud to support Safe Families as they seek to launch into our city, helping families when they need it most.

Tim Tebow Foundation

December 2025

Tim Tebow Foundation (for anti-trafficking) – While you don’t have to have children to know that child trafficking is one of (if not the most) horrendous crimes imaginable, having them does certainly make this growing issue a bigger burden on the heart. The latest reports estimate trafficking has grown by 10 million people in the last 5 years – that’s one in every 150. So imagine your child’s elementary school – now pick one or two or three kids, never to be seen again, and to endure a life more horrific than you would want for your worst enemy. We are grateful for the opportunity to donate to foundations fighting against this, and continue to pray for the day when their efforts will be complete. But it starts with us! Will you join us?

Choosing Northshore means choosing a partner who is deeply invested in your satisfaction and the well-being of your trees. We invite you to experience the Northshore difference for yourself. Deep roots grow a legacy, and we’re here to help you cultivate yours.

You had the best pricing that I have seen, but I would likely have booked you anyways because you and your wife seem so wonderful, and the tree program is just an amazing thing to me as well.

Julie

You went away empty handed because of your honesty {payment was refused} assuring me that the trees needed no work. I appreciate your time and expertise and will not hesitate to recommend you to any one needing tree service.

Robert Kennedy

We would recommend this company. They removed a huge beech tree from our property. Very competent and professional. Our yard was left in pristine condition.

I have known John Corner for a number of years. He has removed and trimmed a number of trees in my back yard and I have been very happy with the work he has done for me. He has a friendly but professional approach, is competitively priced, and leaves the work area clean and tidy. I am happy to recommend Johnny and know anyone using his services will be satisfied with the quality of the work that he performs.

I highly recommend Northshore Tree Experts for any tree care service you might require. Last summer I had a dangerous overhanging branch removed from over my deck. Additionally, I had some smaller trees and branches removed that were certain to have created problems in the future. The cleanup was meticulous and the friendly professional attitude was appreciated.

Brian & Sandra

Super efficient and friendly tree guys. No damage, and they cleaned up perfectly!

Victoria Lively

We highly recommend Northshore Tree Experts to anyone who is looking for a tree cutting/removal company. They quickly and efficiently trimmed and disposed of large over-hanging branches on several extremely tall trees around our home. We had neither the skill or the equipment to attempt the job ourselves, and now have peace of mind knowing that those branches no longer pose a danger to people or property. Thank you Johnny for a job well done!
